Single-Green- Potty Training-Frog who keeps his undies dRy cause he is a "BIG Boy", does pee-pee and poops(aka-snakes) in the toilet, and gets a delicious treat after he uses the toilet!!!
Yes, you heard it right peeps, I responded to this ad and now I've got me a handsome little 3 year old who is P to the otty Trained!
I started out thinking that because Dylan was 2 1/2 years old we were throwin those diapers away and waking up to have a huge potty party! Um... ya, I was totally WrOnG. Who knew the parents don't make all the big decisions?
Justin read an article in his Men's Health magazine(not just ripped up hotties on the cover) about a dad who woke his son up one morning with a boy doll who was wearing underwear and who needed to use the potty. He would give his son a treat everytime he used the bathroom or attempted to and also gave his son the babies treat after the baby sat on the toilet. The dad also put some tootsie rolls in the undies of the baby to represent an "accident" and wet his undies once or twice and let the little boy feel it. He still gave the baby a treat even though he had an accident and just kept talking to the little boy about keeping his undies dry.
Holy cow, it totally worked. Dylan just jumped right to the big toilet and although we have had a few accidents it isn't even worth mentioning compared to the success! Justin started it out on Sat. and Sun. and I took over during the week. We have been going strong for 3 weeks now!!!
Maybe it has something to due with the fact that Justin isn't as highly stressed out like me and he wasn't curled up on the bedroom floor after day 3 of Dylan not wanting to be potty trained(true story of me the first time around with real bawling tears and everything. I'm such a FREAK!), or the pure fact that Dylan was ready to wear his big boy undies? Hmm... who would have thunk that a single, green potty training frog could have made all the difference?
Don't you just love the way life works it self out?

I will need to get me one of these!
Okay...that has to be the cutest story ever! What a great idea!! Sometimes you need all the tricks you can get when it comes to potty training!!!
We're sorry we missed you guys this weekend...we would have loved to see you. Maybe next time!
Oh and...it's okay that you're highly stressed...isn't it nice to have someone who helps balance you out??? :)
I love that Justin was so involved! I haven't seen that a whole lot in some of my days of parent watching. You guys are seriously some good, creative parents - I love it! That's so great that he's potty trained - I honestly think that would be one of the harder things to do in those first years.
YEAH DYLAN!!!! Such the big boy now!!! Where does the freakin' time go. It honestly seems like I was at the hospital to see you. They for sure grow way to fast. Good Job on the potty training. By the way, it was so good to see you guys the other night. Thanks for inviting us, it was a lot of fun. Love Ya
Jack has those same undies! I totally messed up with Braydon and now I wait till they are ready. I don't care if they are 14 and wearing diapers. Potty training is the hardest parenting thing I've ran into yet! Good job sgptf!!
That is so great. Potty training is by far the hardest part of everything. I may have to invest in one of those frogs for my baby. I hope he trains early. I just know that I can't get my hopes up.
Ahhh...celebrate good times! That's awesome! I seriously hate the potty training thing. Like Nicole, I totally screwed it up with Macie and my other two haven't been bad. I've heard boys are much harder though and so I'm a little scared for the PT days with little Tavs...do you think they'll still have SGPTF around? Hope so:) Way to go DYL!
Don't you love when you get them out of diapers!!! I am now trying to get Tristan to go by himself which I know he can because he does it all the time outside and sometimes it is not the best timing.
That was so fun to read!! Go Justin for finding something that works. Congrats!
YAY Dylan! Congrats to you all! Such good creative parents...you guys are a w e s o m e !!
Yee Haw!!!! lucky you!
I think it was awesome of Justin to get this going for Dylan! He's such a good Daddy! I too tried this with our little "girl Tad" after he told me about it. It did work pretty well, of course we are still working on it. It will be so nice once this phase of potty training is over! IT IS THE WORST!!!
But, hey we had fun this weekend! I'm glad you guys came up and were able to go out with us! We should do it more often, I'm serious, life is way too short! I'll send you some pictures! :)
YEAH DYLAN!! WE DON'T WANT YOUR MOM TO CRY NO MORE:)THAT FROG IS SUCH A CUTE IDEA..IF I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TRIPP I'LL BE BUYING ME A POTTY FRIEND. LET'S DO LUNCH HOOCHIE..
thank you!@ it was the 27th. Im excited for the hypnotist show tonight, you are coming, right?
It feels grrreat to make it over the potty training hump doesn't it?!!! Okay--I was totally at Thriller!! I think that I saw you too. I was looking, thinking to myself how do I know her? How do I know her?? It didn't even dawn on me it was you until I read your comment!! YEAH! So you are a real person!!! Now I just need to meet, hug, tell you what a great bloggin' buddy you are to me...& so on & so forth!!
Oh, & the Roxy shirt...watch out...because if you are a sweater (which I am badly) it shows EVERYTHING!
Potty training is the WORSE part of parenting. I hate everything about it! So glad that you are smiling and things are going grrrrreat!
Ah the potty training days! We used to do potty treats too! That's pretty creative what you did! You sound like such cute parents!
As always, you crack me up! Love reading what is going on in your world! Are you guys coming up to SLC any time soon? I would love to see you!
